Pastor Chad’s Monthly Message - November 2026

Moving Forward into God’s Tomorrow

Dear People of God,

We are embarking on a Fall Stewardship Campaign that will help launch us into God’s tomorrow.  This year our theme will be “Moving Forward into God’s Tomorrow.”  This theme will represent a fair amount of change, but I believe this congregation is poised to do great things and be a bright and shining light of what God is doing in and through us!

By now, you have been made aware of several staffing changes and a plan to celebrate staff in this coming year who will be starting new chapters in their life journey.  These changes across the board will also represent a balanced budget.  In addition, they will represent a new model of ministry that is more dependent on volunteers and part-time contract employees.

To reflect this important time of change, we will be focusing our stewardship month around why you first came to St. John, what keeps you coming back, and what your hopes are for tomorrow.  As we are learning in our narrative lectionary year, God’s people are always going through different seasons of change, and God is faithful to bless each generation with God’s presence and God’s Spirit to guide us and direct us!

Stewardship Sundays will happen on November 8, 15, & 22, with the final Sunday being our Commitment Sunday.  You can expect to have an offering of pledge cards and time and talent surveys for this final Sunday. These tools will be mailed to every household and also will be available on a table in the narthex during the month of November.  The stewardship team has prepared wonderful reflections for us to participate in and I’m confident that we have a solid plan to accomplish God’s mission for us in 2027.

Our theme verse is Deuteronomy 31:8: “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you.”  This was true for God’s people in the days of Moses and is still true for us today!

God’s Peace!

Pastor Chad
