Volunteer at St. John

We’re looking for more volunteers to join our St. John lawn-mowing crew. They will be taking turns to mow and trim our church’s lawn for this year’s grass growing season! The church has enough equipment (two electric mowers) to make this a “fun” family or friend’s project.

Each Wednesday this program year, we’ll be serving a sandwich bar downstairs in the fellowship hall from 5:15pm-6:30pm.

We’re looking for volunteers to serve the food from 5:15pm-6:30pm and to clean up the kitchen and fellowship hall afterward.

We’re looking for individuals or groups interested in providing treats and serving Sunday coffee/fellowship time in the parlor on Sundays.

Volunteers are expected to bring 4-6 dozen treats or snacks, make coffee, serve, and clean up.

Communion Assistants

We serve Communion from 2-4 stations during Sunday worship. Each station needs one person to serve the bread and another to serve the wine.

Scripture Readers and Assisting Ministers

Each Sunday, we have an opportunity for someone from the congregation to read the appointed Bible text for the day, and another person to pray the Prayers of the Church and lead the appointed Creed or Statement of Faith.

Ushers

Usher duties include: handing out bulletins, recording attendance numbers, and directing the flow of traffic during communion.

On the first Sunday of each month, volunteers from St. John prepare and serve the evening meal at Churches United for the Homeless in Moorhead.

The time commitment is 4:15pm-7:00pm.

St. John is seeking volunteers to assist with the tech booth during worship services. Volunteers are needed to help with slides, audio, and streaming.

No prior knowledge or training is necessary!

St. John has many members who are not able to attend church services for a variety of reasons.
